Ford said that it has not received reports that this defect has led to fires. The model year 2010 trucks covered in the recall were produced from October 2009 through May 2010 at Ford’s Twin Cities Assembly Plant. Ford also said it is recalling 9,100 vehicles worldwide because their electrical systems may short and result in a vehicle fire.
A total of 8,022 vehicles in the U.S. are affected by this recall, including seven models: the Ford Edge crossover, the Lincoln MKX crossover and the F-series line of pick-up trucks: the F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550. Ford spokesman Wes Sherwood said that no injuries have been reported for the recalls related to the fuel leak or electrical issues.
